It was during high school in Toronto, Canada that Tambrey first decided television news would be a good fit for her. She completed her first television internship back then, and was hooked.
Tambrey moved to Tampa, Florida after graduation, and interned at WTOG as part of her associate's curriculum. While pursuing a bachelor degree, she anchored and produced a newscast for WUSF. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in mass communications – broadcast journalism.
She started her television career at KMOT in Minot, North Dakota as a reporter and later joined the KXMC news team as co-anchor for the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts. She was later promoted to producer of those shows, as well. Then Tambrey moved to the Quad Cities where she served as primary solo anchor at WHBF and main anchor/reporter at KWQC.
Outside the newsroom, Tambrey enjoys spending time at home with her pets - a miniature pinscher, two parrots and a python. She also loves to travel and has family scattered all over the world. Her parents live in Atlantic Canada and her younger brother and his family live in Dubai. Some of her other hobbies include skiing, skating, playing piano, biking, horseback riding and generally spending time outdoors.
