Featured Recipe: French Onion Soup
1/4 C butter
3 yellow onions, sliced
1 tsp sugar
1 TBS flour
2 1/2 C water
1/2 C red wine
2 cans (10.5 oz) condensed beef broth
1 french baguette
8 oz. sliced swiss cheese
Melt butter in saucepan, stir in sugar. Cook onions over medium heat for 10 minutes until golden. Stir in flour until well blended with the onions. Add water, wine, and beef broth; bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Cut 1 inch slices of bread, and toast at 325 degrees for about 10 minutes. Ladle soup into bowl top with toast and then top with swiss cheese. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes until cheese is melted. Enjoy!
